Tattoo Removal Process
How does the tattoo removal intervention proceed?
A natural FDA Solution is re-tattooed into the epidermis. This solution reacts with the macrophages, which are molecules encapsulated with color. These cells lose their integrity and release the pigment of the tattoos.
Before starting the procedure, we inform the client about the methods and the different stages of progress. We respond to all the questions that the client might ask regarding health issues, possible side effects as well as the awaited results. The client must complete a form about his medical history, use of medication, etc. To ensure that all parties are informed, the client will be asked to sign a consent statement, acknowledging the details of the treatment
This procedure is undertaken to avoid any allergic reaction to the product. Once we have answered all the client’s questions and that every step has been explained during your consultation, we are now ready to start the treatment.
How does a laser-free tattoo removal intervention proceed?
Using a natural solution that acts as an exfoliant when applied on the color. Our technician cuts open 1-mm within the epidermis and the solution is introduced into the interior of the tattooed skin. The exfoliator is applied to the treated area. It penetrates slowly through the tattoo’s ink. Then, it reacts with macrophages, which are molecules encapsulated with color. These cells lose their integrity and release the pigment of the tattoo.
Macrophages that surrounded and protected the tattoo’s ink are now recognized by the defense system of the body as being a foreign substance, so it rejects it directly to the surface of the skin, where a scab form. The dried scab falls off after 2 or 3 weeks and the treated area heals after 6-8 weeks. The skin will regain its color 6 to 12 months after the last session of tattoo removal.
What are the results that can be expected using the laser-free tattoo removal technique?
In most cases, tattoos removed using our method are not visible to the naked eye. In the case of smaller tattoos, the results can be seen after two or three treatments at the earliest after four to five months (waiting time frame between treatments 8 to 10 weeks included.) However, the skin often requires additional time to cure and soften and loses its redness. In some situations, for larger tattoos, the healing period could be longer.
Our customers are very pleased to be finally able to adjust to a procedure that meets their expectations, as they consider it a soft and reliable procedure. Nevertheless, many of them think that we can remove a tattoo as if it was comparable to rubbing out a graffiti from a wall. Let us not forget that the human skin is alive, therefore it does not react like a wall would. Up to this date, there is still no available technique world widely known, that can guarantee a total tattoo removal or that leaves no trace or scar. In fact, our method is not the one responsible of the reaction that one’s skin may experience, as each one of us has a specific skin complexity.
Just like a plastic surgeon cannot guarantee the outcome of an intervention, even if he has done the same operation several times before. A good result is when the tattoo is no longer recognizable as such, from a distance of one meter. We will discuss your personal needs and the possible results with you in detail during an interview within depth advice before proceeding.
Why shouldn’t you remove your tattoo with a laser?
To this day, the standard method used for removing a tattoo was to use different types of laser according to the different color pigments. They are split by the energy of the laser and are transported into the body through the lymphatic system. We still do not know where the products of degradation are stored, or what they can produce. Medical studies suggest the possibility that the projection of a high level of energy light on color pigment cause the creation of new compounds, some of them are toxic. Once produced, they can enter the body in an uncontrolled manner. Many doctors advise against the use of the laser treatment technique and suggest giving up on removing your tattoo for now. But thanks to our method, anytime can be the right time to do so.
What is the conventional method of ink removal.
According to the medical research at the University of Regensburg in Germany (published in the German medical journal “Ärtzeblatt Sachsen-Anhalt”) it was established that the fragmentation of azo dyes in the skin can cause the appearance of “carcinogenic aromatic amines agents”, in particular under the effect of UV radiation. When a person gets a tattoo, the colors of her pigments, particles of the product’s residue and other impurities can be spread throughout the entire body via the vascular system. They can be found for example in the lymph nodes. “Other sources also refer to an eventual presence of particle residue in the spleen and liver. Another problem consists in the fact that the color pigments break, but they are transferred by the laser in the deeper layers of the skin and in connective tissue. Afterward, they form opacities that are inaccessible.
Therefore, we can also admit that even after 10 treatments, the tattoo is still visible, and nothing changes despite continued laser treatments. Adding to that, burns are not always detectable from the outside, however, the connective tissue, located below is often healed. The hardening and the formation of lumps under the skin are evident traces of it.
In such cases, only a skin transplantation can help removing these flaws, as our method itself does not enable us to trace the pigments on the surface of the skin. A new tattoo in the same area, or the popular method that consists of covering is no longer possible.
What are the risks involved in the process of laser-free tattoo removal?
Inflammation: As the result of any skin irritation, inflammation can also occur during the removal of tattoos. Tattoos located on areas within areas of the body that requires constant muscle contraction (such as the ankle, wrist, elbow, etc.) are of particular concern. Minor inflammations subside very quickly. If larger areas are involved, please contact us.
What are the different steps of treatment?
The natural solution is applied, the color rises to the surface. Within a few days in medical terms it is called granulation, (a scab or crust) is formed. The scab will fall off on its own, some redness may be under the scab and possibly (in some cases) some puffiness but should fade in time depending on each individual. “To help ease the pain, a topical anesthetic is applied (in-office or prior to arrival) if desired by the client. The anesthetic works best if applied 30 minutes to 1 hour before the procedure. We also have a medical provider on staff who can provide further relief by using injectable anesthetics on the areas for treatment. This includes Lidocaine or Bupivacaine. The fee varies based on the size of the treatment area. If interested, this can be discussed at the consultation”.
The process of healing is faster with the after-care creams (mandatory). They hydrate the skin promotes healing and prevent scar tissue.
Side Effects
The regeneration of the skin can be influenced by many reasons. Generally noticed, genetic factors can play a strong part in the healing process, as well as the overall health and intact immune system. Clients are sometimes responsible for their side effects. Therefore, we present you a list of successful ways to avoid them: UV light exposure in any form.
Any mechanical irritation (frictions due to tight clothing, premature extraction of the crust, etc.). Pay rigorous attention when it comes to the care and hygiene of the wound. Due to medication and premature mechanical stress, the wound might form a scar or become inflamed. The treatment in itself does not cause an inflammation as the procedure evolves in a sterilized environment.
The advice given at the meeting prior to the treatment must be taken very seriously, as well as the advice regarding the monitoring of the wound in-between treatments.
The tattoo removal in large areas has significant higher risk of scarring, comparing to smaller areas of the body, but if the instructions are well followed, the apparition of scars and other side effects are less likely to happen.
Please do keep in mind that the healing time frame following the last treatment is from 6 to 12 months.
